Cengelkoy – a romantic neighbourhood starting at the historic Cengelkoy ferry port at the Bosphorous, and stretching up the green hills. This beautiful neighbourhood of Istanbul has been preserved and protected from high density developments.
This is a 5 star development, yet the outstanding feature is quite simply the view. From the high quality granite stones to the real parquet flooring, finishing is of outstanding quality. Even the beautifully crafted full height windows are exquisite, ensuring residents can enjoy endless views of the tantalising Bosphorous and the first bridge. Balconies are finished of with hardened and strengthened glass, and wrap around the front of the apartments to ensure full advantage is taken of the view.
Facilities are offered on the garden level, with two gyms, sauna, and child play areas.
Cengelkoy is strategically well located for quick access to both Bosphorous bridges. The region is well served by amenities, with plenty of private hospitals, private schools and malls within a 5 km radius. Those who fancy a quick coffee in Bebek can take a quick trip via ferry from Cengelkoy ferry port. Sabiha Gokcen airport is within 40 minutes, and Istanbul airport is within 50 minutes.
Demographics are high in this small pocket of Salacak. Salacak is a historic quarter of Uskudar. The earliest artefact is the Salacak Mosque, commissioned by Fatih Sultan Mehmed himself in 1455. Salacak’s importance as a transit route was crucial then and remains so today. Today, Salacak is home to the billion Euro Marmaray railway line, the first rail link between Asia and Europe, linking the region to Sultanahmet in under 4 minutes. The M5 metro line links the region to all major parts of the Asian side.
After the Fatih district, Uskudar is one of the most important Ottoman settlements. It is still home to the world famous Maiden’s tower, the immaculate Beylerbeyi palace, and of course the Asian foot of the first Bosphorous bridge is here.
