The region is well served by amenities, with plenty of private hospitals, private schools and malls within a 5 km radius. Those who fancy a quick coffee in Bebek can take a quick trip via ferry from Cengelkoy ferry port. Sabiha Gokcen airport is within 40 minutes, and Istanbul airport is within 50 minutes.
Demographics are high in this small pocket of Salacak. Salacak is a historic quarter of Uskudar. The earliest artefact is the Salacak Mosque, commissioned by Fatih Sultan Mehmed himself in 1455. Salacak’s importance as a transit route was crucial then and remains so today. Today, Salacak is home to the billion Euro Marmaray railway line, the first rail link between Asia and Europe, linking the region to Sultanahmet in under 4 minutes. The M5 metro line links the region to all major parts of the Asian side.
After the Fatih district, Uskudar is one of the most important Ottoman settlements. It is still home to the world famous Maiden’s tower, the immaculate Beylerbeyi palace, and of course the Asian foot of the first Bosphorous bridge is here.
