Atakent is a mature middle class region, famous in Istanbul for being the city’s best designed neighbourhood. Atakent is famous for its multiple private colleges and hospitals. Renowned colleges such as Bahcesehir, TED, Doga koleji, as well as many lesser known private schools all populate the region’s young population. Private hospitals such as Acibadem, as well as the huge Kanuni Sultan Suleyman state hospital all serve the region. Atakent is traditional a middle class neighbourhood, due to the location of the old airport – this is where the majority of airport staff would live. The new airport moving just 20 minutes north has not changed this demographic.

Transportation, roads, private hospitals, private schools/colleges/universities, all serve the region in abundance. The Media highway investment zone just nearby has ensured the regions everlasting popularity. The new airport is just 20 minutes away, and the famous Istanbul landmarks are 25 mins by car or an easy ride on the existing metro network. The uber modern Marmaray railway system provides easy access to the old city and city centre.
